Ozonization Based STP
(Chemical Oxidation)
What Is Ozone?
Ozone is a colorless gas that has an odor most often described as the smell of air after a spring electrical thunderstorm. Some people also refer to the odor as similar to the smell of watermelons. Ozone (O3) is an extremely unstable gas.Consequently, it must be manufactured and used onsite.
It is the strongest oxidant of the common oxidizing agents. Ozone is manufactured by passing air or oxygen through two electrodes with high, alternating potential difference.
Wastewater Treatment Systems With Ozonization Offered By Us Will Have The Following Advantages:
- Produces no taste or odor
- Provides oxygen to the water after disinfecting
- Requires reduced chemicals
- Oxidizes iron and manganese
- Destroys and removes algae
- Reacts with and removes all organic matter
- Removes color and odor
- Reduces COD and BOD
Further Advantages Due To Ozonization In Our Wastewater Treatment Systems Are:
- Possesses strong oxidizing power and requires short reaction time, which enables the germs, including viruses, to be killed within a few seconds
- Reduction of chlorine consumption
- No carcinogenic (cancer causing) chemicals are formed due to ozone unlike chlorine
- Decays rapidly in water, avoiding any undesirable residual effects
- No chemical addition is required for ozone generation
- The environmentally safe approach will benefit the community in the long run
- Extremely safe operations with ozone
- Eliminates Smell and colour
- Oil & Grease Reduction
- Disinfects water and reduces COD
- Treated water can be recycled for secondary purposes such as gardening, car washing etc
